These monthly pottery sessions are exclusively for children with additional needs or hidden disabilities.

Join us in our light and airy studio to explore the sensory wonders of clay with the gentle support, advice and expertise of Sarah Glazier-Hart. Sarah has years of experience working creatively with adults and children with additional needs, having led funded projects in both London and Cardiff and worked for the Welsh charity Vision21 Cyfle Cymru. Here she managed the pottery project to support adults with learning disabilities on a daily basis and ran a Children-in-Need school holiday project allowing children with additional needs to access a wide range of creative workshops led by local artists and makers.

From the age of 6, Sarah was a young carer to her disabled dad, who, although an engineer by trade, went to pottery classes and discovered them to be life-changing and from where Sarah’s interest in working with clay therapeutically began. She is now mum to a neurodiverse child.

In these sessions there will be plenty of space to explore the tactile and sensory nature of clay. We will use our hands and wooden tools to make pieces that are both fun and functional. The emphasis will be on enjoying the process rather than outcomes with plenty of time to play.
