Join us here at Wildling Studio where we invite you to explore the wonderfully therapeutic, creative hobby of watercolour illustration. Relax in the tranquillity of the studio and soak up the surroundings as we are guided by local artist Kelly Wariner to create our own unique piece of botanical watercolour artwork.

Kelly will provide a tutorial of the techniques of watercolour painting and personalised guidance throughout the workshop as you create your own artwork. You’ll also receive a printed copy of Kelly’s Introduction to Watercolour booklet, full of tips and guidance to help you continue your painting after the workshop should you wish.

You could choose to illustrate a variety of subjects – think seed heads, grasses, mosses, evergreen foliage, winter berries, winter flowers, bud structures, stems and twigs. Included within the workshop will be a short wander through the meadow outside the studio to collect inspiration for painting, and Kelly will also provide pictures of various botanical elements you may choose to paint from.

With no experience needed, this workshop is suitable for all levels. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or have never picked up a paintbrush before, this offering meets you where you are and will build on your skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.

This 2.5 hour guided workshop includes all art supplies, teas and delicious homemade cake as is customary here at the studio.  Gather with friends, family, colleagues or come alone and enjoy some time for yourself and join us for a lovely afternoon

Kelly is a local watercolour artist based in Chippenham. Drawing inspiration from nature and everyday life, Kelly specialises in creating detailed bespoke illustrations of special places, from homes and gardens to wedding venues and local places we know and love. Through the transparent, fluid nature of watercolour, she brings these places to life, inviting us to see them through a different lense.
