“...This is the solstice, the still point
of the sun, its cusp and midnight,
the year’s threshold
and unlocking, where the past
lets go of and becomes the future;
the place of caught breath, the door
of a vanished house left ajar...”
- Margaret Atwood.
As the year draws to a close and the days reach their shortest, we invite you to step away from the busyness of the season and into the stillness of nature.
Join us for a day of deep connection, creative exploration, and gentle celebration as we honour the Winter Solstice – a sacred turning point in the natural cycle, where the long night gives way to the returning light.
This specially curated experience, held in collaboration between Wildling Studio and Ann Berrett of Boundaries Beyond, is designed to ground you in the wisdom of the land, awaken your senses, and create space for reflection and renewal.
🌲 Forest Bathing
We’ll begin the day with a guided Forest Bathing+ session, led by Ann Berrett. This mindful practice is a slow, contemplative walk that invites you to pause, notice, and be fully present with yourself within nature, it is not a hike. Through gently invitations you’ll be guided and held in a safe, supportive space, while nature itself offers a calm, clarity and a deep sense of grounding.
No experience is needed just come with openness and curiosity.
🎨 Clay Imprinting with Natural Elements
Step into creative flow with Wildling Studio as we use found textures and elements from our surroundings to imprint into clay. Whether it’s a fallen leaf, a piece of bark, or the pattern of a feather, you’ll be encouraged to explore the marks and memories nature leaves behind.
Your creation will become a keepsake of the day – a tangible reflection of your time in nature.
(Please note that I will need to take your pieces back to the studio for glazing and firing and will be in touch a few weeks later to arrange collection)
❄️ Wild Swimming
For those who feel the calling, there will be an opportunity to take a refreshing and invigorating swim/dip in wild waters, a powerful and invigorating ritual that awakens the body and strengthens the spirit and mind. This experience will be supported with a guided Anchored Breathing practise to help you arrive calmly and enter the water with awareness and connect fully to the moment
Participation is optional and supported with care. Warm layers and towels essential!
🔥 Tea & Cake Around the Fire
We’ll gather together around a warming fire at various points throughout the day – sharing tea, seasonal cake, and gentle conversation. This is a time for reflection, connection, and celebration as we mark the turning of the year together.
What to Bring:
Warm, layered clothing suitable for all weather
Comfortable walking shoes or boots
A towel, swimwear, water shoes and dry clothes (if wild swimming)
A packed lunch
